Alicja Wasilka

Alicja Wasilka is a visual artist born in 1981. She is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and has also studied

in France at the Ecole Superiere de Beaux Artes d'Angers. She was a finalist in the prestigious Siemens Artistic Award Competition.

As an artist, she practices painting and drawing using her own techniques. Her artworks are a visual expression of emotions and impressions. In a subtle manner, she explores the surface - the structural space - by introducing organic forms that contrast with expressive action painting, creating a deliberate chaos. Through monochromatic palettes of white and gray, her works are characterized by an abundance of air and light. Vibrant and translucent compositions convey the experience of pure emotions, while the forms engage in a quiet dialogue of subtle, interpenetrating contrasts. In these forms, one can find references to human relationships, the surrounding reality, and a world of shapes and objects dressed in organic, sensitive structures.

Alicja Wasilka's artistic practice delves into the themes of transience, fading, and passing. Following the light, the artist inspires the viewer to sensitively observe the luminous nature of the air that surrounds our everyday lives. Alicja Wasilka has participated in both group and solo exhibitions.

Her artworks can be found in private collections in Poland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
